Description:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
The Electrical Engineering Co-Op will last up to 12 weeks. Co-ops will work 40 hours a week, earn a competitive wage, and travel.
Work closely with the Controls Engineering group on projects to support our production facilities.
Utilize Rockwell Software to design, upgrade or convert existing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) programs.
Participate in the design, construction, testing, implementation, and documentation portions of basic industrial control and/or information systems that meet requirements and team standards.
Assist in field operations including requirement definition, field survey, installation, checkout, commissioning and standby support.
Spend time learning technical skills; including computer aided drafting, hardware and software design techniques, software development and testing techniques, and system installation.
Travel in state and out of state to different site locations to conduct inspections on equipment.
Must have reliable transportation and the ability and willingness to travel due to requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Actively pursuing Bachelors or technical degree program with concentration in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Ability to build relationships, collaborate and work efficiently with team members.
Strong MS Excel and PC configuration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
PLC and HMI experience.
Ability, willingness, and desire to work in a hands-on, industrial environment.
Ability and willingness to work outside in extreme weather conditions in an industrial environment.
