Position Overview

We are seeking 1-2 highly motivated Real Estate Analyst Interns to join our private equity firm this fall. As an intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our acquisitions team by underwriting real estate deals, conducting comparable property analysis, and optimizing financial models. This role offers hands-on experience in commercial real estate, financial analysis, and deal execution. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to high-impact projects. We welcome applicants with diverse skill sets and may hire multiple interns whose strengths complement one another. 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis & Underwriting:

  • Underwrite potential real estate acquisitions using advanced Excel models to evaluate cash flows, returns, and investment viability.
  • Conduct comparable property analysis to assess market trends, property values, and investment opportunities.
  • Enhance and automate financial models using advanced Excel formulas and, where applicable, VBA to improve accuracy and efficiency. 

Market Research & Deal Origination:

  • Perform in-depth market research to identify high-potential properties and support deal sourcing efforts.
  • Analyze market data to inform underwriting assumptions and investment strategies.

Transaction Support:

  • Assist in coordinating due diligence, ensuring timely collection and organization of critical documents.
  • Support the closing process by preparing materials and tracking key milestones.
    Contribute to investor reporting by compiling financial updates and investment memos.

Process Optimization:

  • Streamline workflows for data collection and integration into financial models.
  • Assist in creating polished investment memos by integrating Excel data into professional presentations. 

Qualifications

  • Current student or recent graduate in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of real estate underwriting and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including advanced formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, PivotTables) and basic VBA knowledge.
  • Experience with comparable property analysis or market research is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eager to learn, collaborative, and driven to make an impact.
