This position serves as a ServiceNow System Specialist I performing professional applications services for the ServiceNow Platform. 

In this role you will serve as a team member assisting in providing limited information technology services for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of support systems. 

In addition, you will work with experienced systems analysts in preparing testing specifications and developing test data for all modified programs and assist lead analysts in the configuration, testing, installation, and documentation, including revisions and corrections.

Essential Functions

  • Under immediate supervision, serves as a ServiceNow System Specialist I performing professional applications services for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT).
  • Serves as a team member, assisting in providing limited information technology services for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of support systems.
  • Works with experienced systems analysts in preparing testing specifications and developing test data for all modified programs.
  • Assists lead analysts in the configuration, testing, installation, and documentation, including revisions and corrections.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures. 
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

  •         Elementary knowledge of ServiceNow administration, development, or support.
  •         Elementary knowledge of ServiceNow scripting languages such as JavaScript, Glide, Jelly, etc.
  •         Elementary knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile development methodologies.
  •         Elementary knowledge of debugging and troubleshooting software applications.
  •         Elementary knowledge of web services integration (SOAP and REST APIs).
  •         Elementary knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) and query development.   
  •      Elementary knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, Visio, and Project.
