Technology Associate - Software Engineer

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Wellington Management is seeking individuals to be part of the global early career program in the Technology function. As an Associate, you will develop the foundation to become successful in a career in financial technology.

We expect new entrants to join the Technology Associate Program in July 2026. During your first two weeks with us, you will participate in our Base Camp Development Program. This program is designed to equip you with new skills and knowledge of our clients, industry, firm, and culture while developing a strong internal network. By investing in your personal growth on day one, you will help us continue to exceed our client’s expectations. After the two weeks, Associates will receive training and skill building opportunities to develop expertise in the technology that drives asset management.

 

ROLE

The technology group is responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting our robust technology suite. This group works in partnership with functions across the firm to solve complex business problems with technology. As a software engineer, you will:  

Build application functionality, leveraging implementation patterns and open-source solutions where appropriate

Work closely with business users and analysts to review strategic business requirements and collaborate on design specifications

Determine impact to servers, network and storage capacity, and throughput in conjunction with infrastructure delivery teams

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduates graduating with a bachelor’s degree between Fall 2025 – Summer 2026
  • Demonstrated interest in technology, and the investment management industry (all backgrounds welcome to apply)
  • Strong academic performance
  • Proven leadership experience and participation in community service and extracurricular activities
  • Internship experience or coursework in software engineering, including design patterns, programming languages, and constructs

  • Ability to work both individually and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Qualified candidates must submit:

  • Résumé, 1 page length
  • Statement of interest, 2 pages max, that addresses:
  1. Why you are interested in working for Wellington Management
  2. Why you are interested in the Software Engineering track of the Technology Associate Program
  • Unofficial transcript (Condensed to as few pages as possible, please don’t send >5 pages. Grades for all semesters must be present, including up to Spring/Summer 2025. Fall 2025 classes in progress are not required but encouraged.)

 

All documents must be submitted, titled with your Last and First name. You must upload each required document in separate upload boxes - resume, statement of interest, and transcript. You will submit your resume at the beginning of the application where it says upload Resume/CV and your statement of interest and transcript at the end. Applications with missing documents or information missing from the required questions for the statement of interest will not be considered.

Interviews

Candidates will be notified on an on-going basis, but mainly in the weeks after the application deadline. If chosen, the First Round will consist of a video interview with a campus recruiter and the program manager. Then, Final Round interviews will take place via video with multiple hiring managers.

 

The start date for the program is July 2026.
