This position serves as an Audit, Collections, & Discovery Specialist in supporting the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) assisting higher level Application Services staff in performing a range of application services of limited complexity for the enhancement and maintenance of the GenTax Integrated System.

Essential Functions

•    Under immediate supervision, serves as an Audit, Collections, & Discovery Specialist in the Audit, Collections, & Discovery Unit for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) assisting higher level Application Services staff in performing a range of application services of limited complexity for the enhancement and maintenance of the GenTax Integrated System.
•    Performs applications programming support of the GenTax system of limited complexity by writing SQL using SQL Server to be used in the business objects or as stand-alone queries.
•    Receives instruction in understanding and applying modern systems methodology and standard operating procedures in performing the structured phases of a system lifecycle.
•    Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures. 
•    Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

•    Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college with course work in application services or directly related fields.

 

Preferred Qualifications

•    Elementary knowledge of VB using the .NET Framework.
•    Elementary knowledge of C#.
•    Elementary knowledge of SQL Server.
•    Elementary knowledge of coding or testing business objects.
•    Elementary knowledge of Information Technology concepts and principles.
•    Elementary knowledge of the theories and functions of computer systems.

•    Requires the ability to lift and carry objects or equipment weighing up to (50) pounds. This is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
