Python Software Engineering Intern
Python Software Engineering Intern – PSA Platform Build (Part-Time, 2.5 Months)
About the Opportunity
Cortado Group is building a Professional Services Automation (PSA) platform — a modern, AI-assisted web application that integrates timekeeping, forecasting, expenses, and resource allocation to help consultants manage projects efficiently.
We’re looking for a part-time Python Software Engineering Intern to help build and test backend systems for this platform over the next 2.5 months. You’ll design APIs, improve data models, and work hands-on with automation tools and applied AI to deliver production-quality features.
You’ll work directly with our Director of IT & Innovation using a stack that blends Python (FastAPI), PostgreSQL, and n8n integrations, plus extensive use of OpenAI Codex — giving you real-world experience in AI-accelerated coding and workflow automation.
What You’ll Build and Learn
You’ll contribute directly to modules that power the PSA system, including:
🕒 Timekeeping & Audit APIs – build and test REST endpoints that log hours, validate entries, and maintain an audit trail
📊 Forecasting Engine – connect project allocations and time actuals to generate weekly utilization and capacity metrics
💰 Expense Module – implement secure receipt handling, file storage, and export-ready finance reports
📈 Reporting Framework – design and test dashboards that visualize key portfolio metrics in real time
🔄 Governance Automation – develop approval workflows and audit triggers that enforce system integrity
You’ll also help refine our PostgreSQL schema, document APIs, and experiment with AI-assisted code generation for rapid prototyping.
