We're seeking an Information Technology (IT) Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) located in our Cybersecurity Operations and Response Division (CORD). CORD plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization against cyber threats and ensures the resilience and security of USPTO digital assets.

- Supporting the oversight of data management, requirements, systems integration, testing, technology integration, fielding, configuration management and control in support of the Branch's mission and objectives.
- Supporting computer network defense, identification/authentication/access control, data, protection mechanisms, and data transfer mechanisms.
- Applying IT principles, methods, and practices; technical documentation methods and procedures and analytical methods sufficient to perform routine and recurring assignments and identifying and resolving issues and problems.
- Assessing planned system changes for security impacts and coordinating with system owners and managers to enable implementation of security controls while meeting current and future business requirements.

Qualifications
Specialized experience:
- Reviewing solutions to mitigate security concerns and issues AND
- Responding to security-related requests from end-users regarding desktop or mobile software. AND
- Providing risk assessments and threat intelligence reports.
Education
Applicants must meet the BASIC REQUIREMENTS of the College Graduate authority:
- Recent graduates who have completed, within the previous two years, a bachelor's or graduate degree OR
- Veteran who have completed a bachelor's or graduate degree and were unable to apply within two years of obtaining their degree due to a uniformed service obligation of at least 4 years, may apply within two years of their discharge from uniformed service.
