Web Developer/Web Designer Intern

Location: Hybrid (Provo iHub office in person work with team along with remote)

Job Type: Internship (with potential part time/full time opportunities)

Duration: 3-12 months

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Web Developer/Web Design Intern to join our team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in web development and design, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build and enhance user-friendly websites. You will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, contributing to both the technical and visual elements of our web presence.

This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build their portfolio, learn industry-standard practices, and grow their skills in front-end development, web design, and user experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of websites, landing pages, and web applications.
  • Collaborate with the design and development teams to create visually appealing and functional user interfaces.
  • Write clean, well-structured HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code to bring web designs to life.
  • Work with designers to convert mockups and wireframes into fully responsive websites.
  • Assist in optimizing websites for performance, speed, and SEO best practices.
  • Participate in cross-browser testing and troubleshooting to ensure a consistent experience across platforms.
  • Conduct UI/UX research and help implement design improvements to enhance user experience.
  • Support in content updates, website maintenance, and implementing new features.
  • Work with version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage code repositories.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing website analytics to recommend improvements based on user behavior.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with web design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, or Sketch.
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Eagerness to learn and apply new skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Wordpress
  • Knowledge of and willingness to learn front-end frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS).
  • Knowledge of and willingness to learn JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery) or front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
  • Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
  • Basic knowledge of SEO best practices.
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git, GitHub).
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous web design or development projects.
