Security and Compliance Analyst Internship

Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise is the largest Toll Operator in the State of Florida – processing over 6 million toll transactions a day from its Roadside Toll Systems and partner agencies – and it takes a large team to make this happen! This internship is based at our Boca Raton Toll Headquarters campus and provides exposure to various areas of the Tolls Cybersecurity Department. If you are self, enjoy learning new skills, and working in a variety of settings, this is likely the internship for you! 

Throughout the semester, the intern will have an opportunity to rotate through each area of the Tolls Cybersecurity Program: 

Cybersecurity Operations 

Network Operations 

Compliance & Governance 

Learning Outcomes:  

During their work in each area, the intern will gain hands-on experience and collaborate with experts in their fields. 

The intern will work alongside our information security and compliance teams, which will offer networking opportunities with industry professionals. 

This internship will offer a valuable industry learning and networking opportunity as they work alongside industry professionals. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Assist in monitoring security alerts and incidents from Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and other detection tools. 

Support vulnerability assessment efforts. 

Help maintain and update security documentation, such as threat and vulnerability plans, policies, and procedures. 

Conduct security awareness research and assist in employee training initiatives. 

Analyze phishing campaigns, malware reports, and suspicious network activities. 

Assist in compliance and audit activities, ensuring adherence to frameworks such as NIST, PCI, or ISO27001. 

Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and patches. 

Research and present findings on emerging cybersecurity threats and trends.
