Software Dev in Test/Quality Assurance Engineer Intern 

 

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saintsis looking for Software Developer in Test or Quality Assurance Engineer interns to help our IT departments to develop and maintain test automation, create and execute test plans, and collect and report quality metrics, and support all other operational aspects of the quality assurance process.

About:  

This internship position represents an exciting opportunity to work for one of the largest information technology centers in the Wasatch front. This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.  Acquire essential work experience and develop your professional skills in the role of a Software Developer in Test or Quality Assurance Engineer. 

  

A Day in the Life:   

Get experience supporting systems and delivering services to users at Church headquarters and millions of users throughout the world. The successful intern may work on test automation using a variety of software programming languages and technologies including, but not limited to Python, Webdriver.io, Java, JavaScript, .NET languages, SQL and XQuery as the job requires.  You will also manage test plans, log, track and close defects using an issue tracking system.      

 

A skilled and seasoned mentor will be provided to guide an intern during their internship.  This is an excellent opportunity for somebody wishing to develop their communication, software testing and engineering skills in an extraordinary development environment.

Work Schedule: This is a 40 hour per week internship that is expected to last approximately 4 months.  Normal office hours are between 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday. You will need to be able to work during this time frame with no extended absences. 

  

The office is located in Riverton, UT or Lehi, UT. Remote options are available for individuals located outside the Wasatch front. 

 

Qualifications:   

 

You should be currently enrolled (or within one year of your graduation date) from an accredited college or university 

Technology background is highly preferred  

Highly computer literate and familiar with various operating system and internet browser environments and cloud technology  

Excellent communication skills for interacting with and providing information to management levels will be needed  

Project management experience is desired  

Exposure to software testing  

Familiarity with programming languages (Python, Java/J2EE, C#, JavaScript, XML, C#)  

Familiarity with applications/frameworks (such as Microsoft Dynamics, Azure, Git, AWS, Selenium, Webdriver.io and Cypress) 

Familiarity with databases  

Time management skills  

Ability to interact well in a team environment  

Self motivated  

Strong attention to detail  

Scripting or coding will be required in interview
