RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide supervisory leadership to a CTS (Cyber Technology Services) Application Team assuring that user’s needs are met through proper allocation of staff and resources consistent with organizational needs, policies, and goals.  
  • Responsible for short and long-term planning for enterprise and departmental software applications.  
  • Manage the lifecycle of software applications, ensuring that applications are developed/procured, implemented, and maintained to meet Company needs in a cost-effective manner.  
  • Contribute to the development of long-term planning strategies and direction of CTS.  
  • Promote positive change towards the CTS strategy through achievement of specific objectives and technological innovation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
    • Degree in software-related field preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Eight years or more experience in IT, Operations, or business process improvement.
    • Strong technical background in project management, application design, implementation, and maintenance preferred.
    • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards preferred (SOX, NIST/CIS, NERC CIP).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement based on ALLETE’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the employee's position will be a blend of work performed both in-person and at an offsite location such as an employee's home office. This position will report to Duluth, MN.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends in the enterprise applications space and the ability to form a defined strategy that balances needs with resources.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and provide innovative solutions.
  • Requires high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships. 
  • Ability to explain technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • The expected annual compensation range for this position is $110,000 - $137,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
