Future Founder

Future Founder - AI Startup

Company: Tenzo AI
Location: San Francisco, CA
Work style: In-person
Compensation: $80,000 OTE + equity
Experience: Entry-level
Start date: ASAP

A role for people who want to start a company someday

Tenzo AI is hiring a Future Founder in San Francisco.

This is an entry-level role for someone technical, analytical, and ambitious who wants to start a company someday and learn the part of company-building most people never get trained on: customers, sales, marketing, growth, and distribution.

You will work directly with the CEO and founding team to help build Tenzo's growth engine from the ground up.

This is not a normal sales job where you only follow a script.

It is also not a strategy role where you sit far away from customers.

You will research markets, build systems, use AI tools, write outbound campaigns, make cold calls, talk to potential customers, analyze what works, and help turn early growth into a repeatable machine.

If you are the kind of person who likes building, experimenting, learning fast, and doing hard things, this role is designed for you.

About Tenzo AI

Tenzo AI builds AI recruiting agents for companies that hire at high volume.

Our platform helps recruiting teams engage, screen, interview, and schedule candidates faster across phone, SMS, email, and video. We help companies move faster, reduce manual recruiting work, and create a better experience for candidates and hiring teams.

We work with companies in industries where hiring is urgent, repetitive, and difficult to manage at scale.

What you will do

You will help Tenzo find, reach, and convert new customers.

You will:

  • Research markets, industries, and customer segments
  • Identify companies that are strong fits for Tenzo
  • Build prospecting lists using data, research, and AI tools
  • Find the right decision-makers inside target accounts
  • Write cold emails and LinkedIn messages
  • Make cold calls to start conversations
  • Book qualified meetings with potential customers
  • Test different messages, buyer titles, industries, and sales angles
  • Track results and analyze what is working
  • Improve our prospecting, outreach, follow-up, and reporting systems
  • Turn customer feedback into sharper messaging and better strategy

Your job is not just to "do sales."

Your job is to learn how startups grow by doing the work, studying the results, and helping improve the system.

Why this role is different

A lot of technical people want to start companies.

Most can build.

Far fewer know how to find a painful problem, talk to customers, sell a product, create demand, handle rejection, test a market, and build a repeatable growth motion.

This role gives you direct practice in those skills.

You will learn:

  • How B2B startups get customers
  • How founders think about markets
  • How to sell a technical product
  • How to write messaging that gets replies
  • How to run outbound campaigns
  • How to use AI and automation to move faster
  • How to analyze conversion data
  • How to turn customer conversations into strategy

This is a strong role for someone who may otherwise be considering software engineering, product, startups, investing, consulting, growth, or starting something on their own.

Who we are looking for

You do not need prior sales experience.

You do need to be ambitious, curious, analytical, and willing to do uncomfortable work.

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Want to start your own company someday
  • Have a CS, engineering, technical, quantitative, or analytical mindset
  • Like building systems, workflows, automations, or tools
  • Are interested in AI, startups, sales, marketing, growth, or business strategy
  • Are comfortable with spreadsheets, data, AI tools, and structured thinking
  • Are willing to make cold calls and talk to potential customers
  • Can write clearly and directly
  • Are coachable and open to feedback
  • Like figuring out how to make things more efficient
  • Want to work in person with a small, ambitious team in San Francisco

Bonus points if you have built a project, written code, used AI tools heavily, created an automation, worked with data, sold something, competed seriously, or started something on your own.

What great looks like

The best person for this role is part builder, part analyst, and part salesperson.

They are technical enough to think in systems, but commercial enough to want to understand customers.

They are willing to make calls, send emails, get rejected, improve the message, analyze the data, and come back sharper the next day.

A great person in this role:

  • Picks up the phone
  • Writes clearly
  • Learns quickly
  • Uses data to improve
  • Notices patterns
  • Builds repeatable systems
  • Handles rejection well
  • Takes feedback without ego
  • Moves fast
  • Gets better every week

What you will get

  • $80,000 OTE
  • Equity in an early-stage AI company
  • Direct mentorship from the CEO and founding team
  • In-person startup experience in San Francisco
  • Real responsibility from day one
  • Exposure to AI, sales, marketing, growth, automation, customer strategy, and company-building
  • A high-learning role for someone who wants to start a company in the future
