Location

Only candidates who live in and are authorized to work in the United States will be considered. While this is a work-from-home role, some travel may be required. 



 

About the Role:

The Marketing team at Arango is responsible for driving awareness, engagement, and demand for the Arango Contextual Data Platform across developers, data engineers, and enterprise teams building AI applications.

We are looking for a Product Marketing Intern (Competitive & Market Intelligence) to support research-driven initiatives that inform product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into technical topics, analyzing trends, and turning insights into clear recommendations.

You will work closely with product marketing, sales, and leadership to help Arango stay ahead in a fast-moving AI and data infrastructure landscape. Your work will focus on understanding the competitive landscape, tracking market trends, and helping equip internal teams with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed.

This role is ideal for someone who is intellectually curious and interested in how AI-ready data enables AI agents, assistants, and applications to reason, decide, and act reliably at scale. You are naturally detail-oriented, with a drive to get the nuances right, competitive in how you approach problems and outcomes, and genuinely enjoy working with modern data and AI technologies. You’re motivated to develop a deep understanding of the systems shaping this market.



 

What You’ll Do:

Competitive Intelligence

  • Research and analyze competitors across technologies enabling agentic AI, including multi-model databases, vector and graph systems, and AI infrastructure platforms that support contextual reasoning and decision-making
  • Develop and maintain competitive battlecards, positioning briefs, and comparison materials
  • Track product launches, feature releases, customer feedback and reviews, and industry benchmarks to assess competitive strengths and gaps

Market Research & Insights

  • Conduct research on trends in AI, data infrastructure, LLMs, and agentic systems
  • Analyze industry reports, analyst content, and emerging technologies
  • Synthesize findings into clear insights and recommendations for marketing and product teams

Sales Enablement & Training

  • Identify and curate valuable training materials, resources, and content to support sales and internal teams
  • Help develop internal enablement content such as training decks, summaries, and guides
  • Support onboarding resources to help teams stay up to date in a rapidly evolving market

Content & Messaging Support

  • Refine product messaging based on deep analysis of architecture patterns, competitive implementations, and real-world agentic AI use cases
  • Develop and iterate on positioning frameworks, technical narratives, and product documentation that clearly articulate differentiation at the data, query, and system design levels
  • Translate complex concepts—such as multi-model data access, contextual retrieval, and distributed system trade-offs—into clear, precise messaging for both technical and business audiences
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to ensure messaging accurately reflects product capabilities, roadmap direction, and implementation realities

Strategic Recommendations

  • Provide recommendations based on research to improve positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in the market for Arango’s platform
  • Support go-to-market planning with data-driven insights


Must-Haves

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
  • Available for a part-time 12-week internship, working 10–15 hours per week
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in AI, data infrastructure, or emerging technologies
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills


Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with databases, AI/ML concepts, and modern data architectures (e.g., vector, graph, multi-model)
  • Experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, and synthesizing technical insights into clear outputs
  • Interest in B2B SaaS, developer platforms, or technical product marketing
  • Experience creating presentations, reports, and strategic documents for both technical and business audiences
  • Exposure to developer environments and tools such as GitHub, APIs, or working with product documentation
  • Familiarity with modern AI tooling (e.g., LLM APIs, embeddings, or retrieval-based systems) is a plus
  • Experience using collaboration and content tools such as Notion, Google Slides, or similar
