Product Specialist Intern

Applied Visions is seeking an intern to join our Product group to assist the team in developing and maintaining a vision for products currently in development. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in authoring user stories with acceptance criteria that deliver outstanding user experience. The ideal candidate understands both the engineering and business side of the product and will support the team by ensuring the end user’s needs are met.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Gather and collect customer requirements. 
• Organize customer requirements by priority (commonly known as epics) in the designated tool. 
• Write user stories with acceptance criteria that provide crucial details about the product’s functionality to meet customer requirements.  
• Possess an in-depth understanding of the customer requirements to become the advocate for the customer as well as end-users.
• Collaborate with the UX/UI team to help facilitate design efforts to meet customer expectations.
• Assist in communicating customer requirements to all team members. 
• Organize and participate in standard meetings within the agile process (sprint planning, backlogs/estimations, grooming, retrospectives).
• Assist in maintaining customer relationships.

Job Requirements and Qualification
• Excellent communication skills and a strong desire to learn and collaborate.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
• Strong writing and organizational skills. 
• Displays technical aptitude, critical/logical thinking, and leadership skills. 
• Experience working within a team environment.

Nice-to-haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, Psychology, Design, or a related field.
• 1+ years of experience working in the industry. 
• A basic understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• A basic understanding of the Agile methodology.
