Additional Information: The City of Leawood offers career development opportunities in which the employee could increase their experience, training, and pay.  The position is eligible to receive merit based pay increases every year (merit increase up to 5% increase).  Employees also receive a Time In Service Bonus every three years of employment on their anniversary date equal to 5% of their annual salary.   

 

Summary of the Position: The Information Services Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Help Desk support tickets and assigning support tickets to the appropriate technicians.  Information Services Coordinator assists the Department in maintaining department records and documentation related to support activities.  Provides administrative support to the Information Technology Manager and Director of Information Technology Service and Operations. 

 

General Overview of Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for maintaining the Department’s HelpDesk ticking system including tracking tickets, phone calls, assigning appropriate technician to service ticket and ensuring there is updated accurate real time progress for all work performed.
  • Performs basic general and technical tasks to include installing, diagnosing, maintaining, and disposing of computer systems hardware, software and other computer peripherals.
  • Assists the Information Technology Manager in documenting all relevant information related to service requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of incidents and service requests.
  • Assists in the preparation of equipment replacement and software upgrades or installations.  Responsible for maintaining documentation and progress reports of hardware replacement and software installations, tests and deploys hardware and software for City workstations.
  • Assists the Information Technology Service and Operations Department in carrying out various programs and processes which may include mass deployments and other projects as directed.
  • Codes and prepares departmental invoices and purchase orders for approval signatures. Monitors and reports departmental expenses as requested. Completes a monthly review of department accounts for any discrepancies.
  • Verifies and processes department purchase requests related to the Information Services department.  Rectifies problems with billing or ordering.
  • Assists with contract and project management for various Information Technology projects.  Documents project information at bid openings as necessary.   Coordinates information with required employees, departments and outside entities.
  • Keeps abreast of changing hardware, software and information technology trends through professional associations, publications, workshops and trainings. May recommend and implement training programs for City staff based on changing technology trends.

Minimum Requirements:  Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with three (3) years of experience working in customer service environment.   OR An Associate’s Degree in computer technology, computer science or related field with one (1) year of experience in customer service environment; help desk support preferred.  Experience in municipality information technology, preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record per the City’s drivers Use of Vehicles for City Business policy throughout employment with the City.
