INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:

Our internship program is a dynamic group of emerging, high potential rising university seniors who will have the opportunity to participate in a 10-week summer internship at the World’s Leading Fragrance Specialty Retailer. 

 This internship will provide the opportunity for a comprehensive view of the various functional areas within specialty retail. You will have the opportunity to work along-side and learn from BBW associates who will provide training, development and engagement of your function and our Brand.

ROLE: Cloud Engineering Intern

 

DESCRIPTION:

Bath & Body Works is building a new technology hosting environment to support all of our partners across the business. Our hosting environment supports networking, database, cloud and on premise servers, end user technology applications, store infrastructure, disaster recovery, ITIL systems and processes, monitoring and alerting, interface scheduling, telephony and collaboration platforms for the enterprise.       

Our 10-week internship experience will provide the opportunity for a comprehensive learning experience focusing on the cloud hosting environment supporting end user, enterprise, and store applications.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

As an Information Technology Infrastructure Intern, you will work across networking, scheduling, and hosting platform technologies to complete tasks, including, but not limited to: 

  • Provide analytical support and decision making for new tools and technologies to be integrated to the environment
  • Assist in establishing physical datacenter support processes.
  • Assist in designing and building the cloud infrastructure
  • Assist in the automation of our build and deployment processes
  • Participate in projects to migrate existing workloads to the cloud following established standards.
  • Support application teams in refactoring applications from legacy technologies to cloud native technologies.
  • Assist in implementing the security and governance standards for workloads and overall environment.

To be considered for the Cloud Engineer Internship role, the following qualifications are desired: 

  • Current juniors at university pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week during summer
  • Computer fluency with programs such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Innate curiosity and desire to learn, strong analytical and logical thinking skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Programming or scripting skills (example languages python, powershell)
  • Concepts and tools for application hosting (examples containerization through Docker/Kubernetes, application artifact management through Sonotype, relational database management through MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle)
  • University current juniors pursuing their bachelor’s degree and in good academic standing
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week during summer 2024
  • Computer fluency with programs such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Innate curiosity and desire to learn, strong analytical and logical thinking skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Have a strong passion for retail
