IT Intern

Responsibilities

  • Setup, re-image/ reload & maintain PCs, Windows networks, file servers, network cabling, & other related equipment, devices & systems.
  • Install hardware & peripheral components such as printers, monitors, & keyboards.
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager to complete work orders (tickets) in a timely & efficient manner.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of computer operating procedures & operating standards.
  • Assists with IT related projects & performs other assignments as requested.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to drive efficient & effective processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all departments to help support the strategies & priorities of the organization.
  • Understand & ensure customer specific requirements are met & in line with company commitments.
  • Acts in accordance to Barnes Group Code of Ethics and Values.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in Information Technology, Computer Science or related degree program.
  • Proven work experience (not necessarily technical work experience) preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Pcs, laptops, networks, printers & peripheral hardware devices.
  • Excellent computer proficiency utilizing Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn & support new systems & applications.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills; ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel. 
  • Must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to permit effective interaction with all levels of the organization. 
  • Self-directed & motivated individual with excellent organizational skills & accepts responsibility.
