PURPOSE
The Intern Analyst will conduct data analysis required to optimize vendor, customer, item, and other master data processes including those related to converting master data to other systems. The Intern Analyst will be responsible for gathering and validating all necessary data. As such, the Intern Analyst will need to foster relationships throughout the organization to gather data and an understanding of what the data means to the business.
This role will be a participant in transformation initiatives related to MDM and Data Governance at Builders FirstSource.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilizes tools and processes to support the creation and maintenance of consistent, standardized, and accurate master data.
- Checks data content and quality by monitoring results and taking corrective action.
- Acts as a liaison to domain data stewards to maintain necessary data stewardship responsibilities and procedures.
- Collaborates with teammates on design and structural changes necessary to satisfy master data requirements.
- Maintains existing enterprise data governance policies and procedures.
- Tracks adherence to key MDM and data governance metrics/SLAs.
- Assists with the maintenance of golden records across domains.
- Learn business processes and partner with business process owners/SME’s, IT, and data stewardship teams
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Must be perusing bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Business Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related discipline from four-year college.
- Prefer GPA of 3.0 or higher.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Hands on experience with SAP MDG master data management, data quality and data governance.
- Experience with analytics tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau is a plus.
- Azure Cloud experience is a plus.
- Experience with Manufacturing and & Distribution industry is a plus.
TECHNICAL SKILLS PREFERRED:
- Databases: Informix, SQL Server, Oracle, S4 HANA
- Working experience with Python and SQL
- Collaboration Tools: MS Office, JIRA, SharePoint, MS Teams
- DAMA Certification
