Western National Mutual Insurance Company seeks to expand its EDI team by adding an EDI and Compliance Intern in our Worker's Compensation Claims department. Our company growth, combined with our focus on innovation, transformation, and investments in the customer experience are key drivers supporting the expansion of our team. Western National Intern Program Summary:
Western National provides a robust internship program designed for individuals aiming to acquire valuable experience in the insurance industry. This program not only offers practical, hands-on opportunities and project work in partnership with our EDI team; but interns will also have the opportunity to enhance their existing skill sets through a range of professional development activities, cultivate relationships with employees and fellow interns, and participate in impactful volunteer initiatives within the community.
Position Summary:
- Keeps accurate and current records in designated systems that are accessible to others.
- Works with subject matter expert for EDI processes and assists with technical training as needed.
- Updates data fields on reporting vendor platforms.
- Work with SME to communicate necessary reporting changes with claims team members.
- Performs special projects and other claims support duties as assigned.
- Seeks relevant information and answers to key questions from defined sources.
- Applies knowledge to help solve problems of relatively limited scope and complexity.
- Contacts other internal departments and team members.
- Communicates various types of messages and information.
- Shadow other positions within the company to learn more about careers within the insurance industry.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Completed two years of college preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Demonstrated ability to pay attention to details.
- Ability to follow processes.
- Good time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient use of various core systems, office and computer equipment, and software packages.
Compensation Overview:
The base pay offered for this position will be $20.00/hour.
