Sensor Engineer Intern - Summer 2025 (Remote, US, CAN)

About the Role:

CrowdStrike Falcon Host is a two-component security product. One component is a “sensor”, which is a driver installed on client machines that observes system activity and recognizes malicious behavior, then provides on-box prevention capability and remote telemetry to the Falcon Host cloud. The cloud component aggregates sensor telemetry for each customer’s network and correlates malicious behavior across multiple machines and presents our customers’ operations teams with a prioritized summary of the threats detected in their environments.

 

Our sensor development team is responsible for building the endpoint sensor which deploys on multiple platforms including Windows, Mac, and Linux. Developers are expected to own the design and development of core features on the platform. Features will cross cut most core OS subsystems such as file system, memory and process, and networking.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Learn about  the sensor development team involved in architecture, strategy, in building and improving next-generation Anti-Virus and Enhanced Detection and Response Security Software
  • Support development teams in designing and building software with cross-platform deliverables (Windows, Mac, Linux).
  • Assist in design to delivery including participation in product demo at the end of the sprint
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams in various locations

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Currently enrolled at a four university, currently working towards a CS/Engineering degree, graduating between December 2025- August 2026
  • An eagerness to learn through hands-on experience and collaborative projects specific to your internship field
  • Understanding in at least one operating system
  • Can think about and write high quality code and can demonstrate that capability, be it through job experience, schoolwork, or contributions to community projects
  • Experience developing in C++ and Windows OS Kernel and Driver Development
  • Exposure to low-level OS internals in Windows a plus!

 

Bonus Points:

  • Experience/project-work in kernel development on any of the platforms, with an interest in growing skills in other platforms.
  • Familiarity and experience with Agile process
  • Experience debugging memory corruptions, process contentions and system performance
  • An understanding or interest in large scale build, test, and automation frameworks supporting hundreds of real-time development and test cycles

 

Location - Fully Remote:

The Engineering Internship is fully remote and requires no travel. Your work location is the city/town/province you will be working from remotely. For our 12-week internship program, interns are allowed to work remotely from an alternative location for up to 2 weeks. Interns are also invited to work out of the CrowdStrike office located closest to their remote location.
