ABOUT THE ROLE

The JELD-WEN Summer Internship Program empowers talented undergraduate students to gain real-world working experience and professional development in one of our business areas. This position is focused on the Information Technology Portfolio Management, Communication and Operational Analytics. The internship program includes meaningful projects and challenging work assignments geared at developing professional competencies and skills in a chosen discipline. Additionally, throughout the summer internship, participants will have the opportunity for professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities to help enhance future leadership. 

     

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In the past, our interns have had the opportunity to: 

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive roadmaps for funded projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. 
  • Set up and manage the North America Region (NAR) IT SharePoint, including ownership, project documentation, architecture, and technology roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers (PMs) to establish and implement standard metrics for IT projects and support activities.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of project data, including PMs, stakeholders, dates, and financials.
  • Project Management: Standardize the use of KANBAN boards and agile delivery methods in sprints. Gain proficiency in Agile delivery and participate in sprint ceremonies. 
  • Operational Metrics: Monitor and report on Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics, manage Vendor Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), and oversee Root Cause and Corrective Action Management (RCCM).

SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Currently enrolled rising junior or senior students majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related major
  • Microsoft Excel intermediate proficiency 
  • Demonstrated work ethic and detail-orientation and organization 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and work to a high caliber while demonstrating attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Recommended 

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Relevant internship or previous work experience 
  • Leadership experience and relationship-building skills
