Essential Functions
- Under immediate supervision, serves as a Solutions Support Specialist I for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR), performing limited assignments in the analysis and other complex technical functions in development, maintenance and support of applications and infrastructure.
- Provides support of limited complexity in maintaining, developing and maintaining scripts and programs in support of the Quality Assurance (QA) Process.
- Receives instructions in understanding and applying modern systems methodology and standard operating procedures in performing the structured phases of a system lifecycle.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college with course work in computer science, systems services, or directly related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
- Elementary knowledge of Client/Server concepts.
- Elementary knowledge of PC software.
- Elementary knowledge of VB.Net and C#.
- Elementary knowledge of relational databases such as DB2 or SQL Server.
- Elementary knowledge of coding or testing of business objects.
- Elementary knowledge of application programming support.
- Elementary knowledge of Information Technology documentation.

- Requires ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. This is considered light work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(b)). Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Requires ability to travel in performance of duties.
