NASA Portfolio Operations Intern - Summer 2025

This position is currently full-time telework with the ability to work out of our Tysons, VA HQ at least every other week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and administrative support across multiple contracts within NASA Portfolio Operations. 
  • Assist in developing and maintaining tools to forecast leave and labor utilization across contracts. 
  • Support the build-out of onboarding processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for NASA team members. 
  • Create and manage tracking systems for program travel, subcontractor labor hours, and other financial data to improve visibility and efficiency. 
  • Enhance the functionality of SharePoint sites and other internal collaboration tools to support program operations. 
  • Work directly with program managers and task leads to provide operational insights and recommendations. 
  • Support cross-portfolio employee engagement activities, including logistical support for in-person and virtual or asynchronous activities. 
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and automation efforts within portfolio operations. 

Qualifications

  • Current student enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program, pursuing a degree in business, finance, project management, data analytics, or a related discipline. 
  • Completion (or near completion) of a bachelor's degree by Spring/Summer 2025 is preferred. 
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. 
  • Experience with financial tracking, data visualization, or process automation is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Python, RStudio, or VBA programming languages is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with MS PowerAutomate, PowerApps, and PoweBI is a plus. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. 
  • Prior experience with government consulting, operations analysis, or project management is a plus.
