Macintosh Systems Administrator Trainee

As a Macintosh Systems Administrator Trainee, you'll be part of a small team supporting about 30 Apple computers and servers and two PCs at two offices near UT. We use wiki-style IT documentation, training, and project management.

Typical tasks are related to:

  • network performance, monitoring, and maintenance
  • managing email user accounts and settings, and monitoring service performance
  • managing website content, updates, and settings, and monitoring website uptime and performance
  • onboarding and offboarding end-users
  • negotiating purchases and licensing and service contracts
  • database design and maintenance
  • maintain confidentiality and computer security
  • troubleshooting for 18 end users
  • other IT tasks as needed

Qualifications

It's helpful for this IT support position that you have experience with some of the following:

  • macOS administration and device management
  • scripting languages (such as AppleScript, PHP, Python, Perl, JavaScript)
  • computer security.

Please explain any experience or interest in these areas on your application.

Any of these abilities will be a plus: database design (such as FileMaker Pro), web design or development of dynamic or ecommerce websites, SEO, project management, technical writing.

Pay and hours

Pay is $28 to $33 an hour, depending on experience. 32 to 40 hours a week are preferred.
