Financial & Business Administration Intern

Overview

DriverAI is seeking a detail-oriented and ambitious Financial & Business Administration Intern to support our executive and operations teams with budgeting, financial tracking, business planning, and administrative coordination. This unpaid internship offers hands-on experience in startup finance, internal reporting, vendor management, and operational support.

You’ll gain exposure to the strategic and administrative functions that drive early-stage companies forward, learning directly from founders and operators.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Tracking: Assist with tracking expenses, revenue, and forecasts using spreadsheets and accounting software

Budget Support: Help prepare and update operating budgets, financial models, and investor-ready summaries

Vendor & Invoicing: Support invoice management, vendor communications, and payment tracking

Document Management: Organize contracts, agreements, and key compliance documentation in shared systems

Meeting Support: Assist with internal scheduling, note-taking, and follow-up coordination for finance/ops discussions

Process Improvement: Identify and recommend ways to streamline recurring admin and financial workflows

Business Research: Conduct market, pricing, and regulatory research to support executive decisions

Basic Qualifications

Strong proficiency with Google Sheets, Excel, or similar tools

Highly organized and detail-oriented with clear written communication

Ability to manage multiple tasks and self-prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Comfort with handling confidential information professionally

Eagerness to learn financial and operational aspects of tech startups

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with financial tools like QuickBooks, Xero, or Wave

Basic understanding of income statements, cash flow, and budgeting

Prior internship or coursework in business, finance, or economics

Interest in startups, B2B SaaS, or venture-backed companies

Experience using project management tools (e.g., Notion, Trello, Asana)

GPA: 3.0 or above

Position Type: Unpaid Internship (10–20 Hours/Week)

Location: Remote, with optional in-person events in Phoenix, Arizona

Compensation: This internship is unpaid and designed for experience and professional development

Travel: 90% remote, 10% in-person participation optional

Start Date: Flexible
