TSS 3- Cyber Security Analyst
Hours: 8 hours/day; 5 days/week; all year round
General Purpose of Job:

The TSS 3 Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for the technical implementation and management of the school district’s cybersecurity initiatives. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity measures to protect the district’s digital infrastructure. The analyst will work closely with the Director of Information Systems & Security to ensure the highest level of security and compliance with relevant policy and regulations.
Description:
The TSS 3 – Cybersecurity Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding the digital infrastructure of the school district. Reporting to the Director of Information Systems & Security, this position is responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining cybersecurity tools and protocols that align with district policies and regulatory standards such as FERPA, CIPA, and GDPR. The analyst collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to ensure system integrity, respond to security incidents, and proactively address vulnerabilities through audits and assessments.
This role demands a strong foundation in cybersecurity principles, excellent communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical audiences, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic educational environment. The position emphasizes continuous learning, professional growth, and a commitment to fostering a secure and supportive digital learning environment for all students and staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Providing customer service that embodies the district mission.
- Representing the District in a positive manner.
- Demonstrating effective and efficient internal and external communication in all aspects of duties.
- Collaborating with vendors to evaluate and implement cybersecurity solutions.
- Managing relationships with cybersecurity vendors to ensure optimal performance and support.
- Coordinating with vendors and internal teams to schedule and manage system upgrades and maintenance.
- Performing work accurately.
- Using time efficiently in daily work and monitoring projects to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrating adaptability and reliability.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity tools and standards to protect the district’s digital assets.
- Recommending and enforcing procedures for effective use of cybersecurity tools.
- Providing expert-level technical support for cybersecurity applications and solutions.

- Undertake additional tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate in Arts degree in Cybersecurity or a relevant field with 5 years of experience
OR
- 8 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Comptia Security Plus
- Experience with K-12 technology
- Proficiency in a language other than English (Spanish, Somali, Hmong, Vietnamese)

Bargaining Unit: Hourly Technical
Hourly Rate Range: Class V per contract: $27.08 - $33.68 per hour
